The Foundation was established in 1991 by the Czech Music Fund with royalties from the performance of Janáček’s musical works. From the very beginning, it has been our honour to preserve and develop the value flowing from Janáček’s creative, organisational and educational activities.
We support organisers, musicians, researchers, publishers and students – everyone interested in Janáček’s oeuvre willing to be closely involved in its dissemination. We can connect your event with other Janáček-related activities; support the development of an innovative culture project or publication; or lend the helping hand in mounting a Janáček exhibition.
It’s you, whether you’re a musician, researcher or enthusiastic listener, who helps keep Janáček’s oeuvre alive.
We support festivals, established and emerging artists, researchers and others who are interested in spreading Janáček’s oeuvre.
Music periodicals:
We are involved in the study of Janáček’s oeuvre, the publication of scholarly works and the performance of Janáček’s music.
We reward excellence in innovation, research and performance.
Every year, we give awards to fresh graduates of conservatories, academies and universities with programmes in musicology and performance.
Awarded at the beginning of each decade for a work of scholarship, editing, journalism or organisation.
Awarded to conductors under 40 for exceptional performance of Czech music, particularly Janáček, always in years ending in five.
Awarded by the Management Board to persons and institutions for their contribution to the performance of Janáček’s works, for merit in disseminating Janáček’s oeuvre or for excellence in organisation, editing or publication in the field of Janáček scholarship. Award winners
